Spa Construction in Orange County
At Millennium Construction, we design and build custom spas as part of our Swimming Pools and Spas service, together with the decking, water features, and outdoor living space around them. Since 2002, we have been a family-owned design-build contractor serving homeowners across Orange County, handling the design work and the building of every project ourselves.
- Your spa rendered in 2D and 3D before we build
- C-53 licensed, one of five CSLB classifications
- Family-owned since 2002, 10-year workmanship warranty

Understanding Spa Construction
A built-in spa is permanent construction rather than a product you place on a patio. It carries its own shell, plumbing, equipment, and electrical, and it has to sit correctly against the pool, the decking, and the rest of the yard it belongs to. We design and build all of that in-house, which is how we keep the spa and everything around it working as one piece.
Our clients are not shopping for a tub. They are adding the part of the backyard that gets used on a cold evening in January, and we plan it into the property from the start.

Our Spa Construction Services

Spas Built With a New Pool
Spas designed and built alongside a new swimming pool, sharing the plumbing, equipment and structure. Building the two together is considerably simpler than adding a spa later, because the runs, the equipment pad, and the surrounding decking are all planned once rather than opened back up.

Spas Added During a Pool Remodel
For homeowners with an existing pool area, a spa can often be added while the space is already being renovated. We assess what the existing shell, plumbing, and decking will support and tell you honestly what is possible before you design around it.

Spa and Water Feature Integration
Spillways, sheer descents, and raised walls that connect the spa to the pool and give it a focal point. Because we also build water features and fountains, these elements are drawn into the same scope rather than added by a separate trade afterward.

Spa Surrounds, Decking and Masonry
Coping, decking, raised walls and stonework around the spa, handled by the same team through our hardscape and masonry service. Materials and detailing carry across the property so the spa reads as built with the yard rather than dropped into it.

2D and 3D Spa Design
Every project is developed through our in-house 2D and 3D design service, so you see the spa in context against the pool, the decking, and the house before construction begins. Changes made on screen cost nothing but time.

Spas Within a Complete Outdoor Living Project
A spa rarely stands alone. We also build outdoor kitchens, patios, fire features, landscape and turf, which means the grades, materials and sightlines across your whole backyard are resolved as one design.
Our Spa Construction Process
Step 1 - Site Visit and Consultation
We walk the property with you to understand how you want to use the spa and where it belongs relative to the pool, the house, and your seating. Grade, access, existing utilities, and how the spa connects to what is already there are all assessed at this stage.
Step 2 - Design and 3D Rendering
Our in-house design team develops the spa in 2D and 3D, covering shape, height, finishes, coping, and how it meets the pool and decking. You approve the design in context before anything is built.
Step 3 - Finish and Material Selection
We walk you through tile, coping, interior finish and surround materials, and confirm the equipment the spa will run on. Selections are settled before construction because they affect the structure and the rough-in.
Step 4 - Permitting and Rough-In
Plans are prepared and submitted, and we coordinate with your Orange County jurisdiction. Plumbing, gas where applicable, and electrical are run and inspected before the structure goes up.
Step 5 - Construction, Finishes and Equipment
The shell, tile, coping, and surrounding decking are completed, and the equipment is set, plumbed, and wired. One point of contact manages the sequencing, and because we build the surrounding space too, it all finishes out together.
Step 6 - Startup, Walkthrough and Handoff
We fill and start the spa, balance the water, walk you through operation and care, and complete the punch list. Your project is backed by our 10-year workmanship warranty.

Why Orange County Homeowners Choose Millennium Construction
A spa touches almost everything around it. The pool it shares equipment with, the decking it sits in, the drainage underneath, and the seating it faces are all affected by where it goes and how it is built. Handled by separate trades, those decisions get made in isolation. We design and build all of it.

Design and Construction Under One Roof
Millennium Construction is one of the few general contractors in Southern California that does both the design work and the building on every project. We are the estimator and the designer, which lets us explore alternatives before anything is committed.
Licensed for the Work
Our California contractor license, number 804132, includes C-53, the swimming pool classification that covers spas, alongside general building, concrete, masonry, and landscaping. We carry $1,000,000 in general liability and workers’ compensation insurance.
See It Before You Build It
Every spa is developed through our 2D and 3D design service, so you approve the finished look against your pool and decking rather than imagining it from a plan.
One Company, Start to Finish
You contract with one company for the full duration of the project. Design-build keeps each new or remodeling project organized from beginning to end rather than split across trades who answer to no one in common.
A Record You Can Check
An A+ BBB rating, a perfect CSLB record, and five-star ratings on Google, Yelp, and Houzz. Financing is available through HFS Financial for larger projects.
Family-Owned Since 2002
More than two decades building in Orange County as a family-owned contractor, with much of our work coming from referrals and clients who return for another project.

Frequently Asked Questions
Do you build spas on their own, or only with a pool?
We build spas as part of our Swimming Pools and Spas service, most often alongside a new pool or during a pool area remodel. Whether a standalone spa works on your property depends on the site, the utilities available, and how it would connect to what is already there, which we assess during the site visit.
Can a spa be added to my existing pool?
Often yes, and a pool remodel is usually the right time to do it, since the area is already open and the plumbing and equipment can be addressed at once. We look at the existing shell, equipment, and decking and tell you what the property will support before you commit to a design.
Will I see the spa design before it is built?
Yes. Our in-house team develops every project in 2D and 3D, so you see the spa against the pool, the decking, and the house and approve it before construction starts. Design-build means the people who draw it are the people who build it.
Do spas require permits?
Swimming pools normally require permits prior to building, and spa work involving plumbing and electrical generally does as well. Requirements vary by city across Orange County, and we prepare the plans and coordinate with your jurisdiction as part of the project.
How long does spa construction take?
It depends on the scope and whether the spa is part of a larger project. Larger Swimming Pools and Spas projects, particularly those involving patios, landscaping and hardscape, tend to take more time. We give you a realistic timeline once the design and selections are set.
Can you build the rest of the backyard at the same time?
Yes, and it is usually the better way to do it. We also build outdoor kitchens, patios, hardscape and masonry, landscape and planting, fire features and water features, so the whole space can be designed and constructed as one project.
Are you licensed and insured?
Yes. Millennium Construction holds California contractor license 804132 with five classifications covering general building, swimming pools, concrete, masonry, and landscaping, and carries $1,000,000 in general liability and workers’ compensation insurance. We hold an A+ BBB rating and a perfect CSLB record.
